The Form of Happiness

The day I found you,

you were on top of the stairs

towards the terrace,

You weren't hiding

you were protecting.

I was astonished by the looks of you,

such brown fur that shine under the rays of the sun,

( you had quite some courage,

competing with him of all. )

It made me want to name you sona (golden).

You were a glittered array of light in my life,

teaching me to enter into the sky,

take the stairs of leap

and let go into the wild.

A beautiful darling such as yourself

dancing her tail under the arms of the midnight moon,

I realized

You are a prism

reflecting all that is beautiful around you,

and you are not just the the object of it,

you are part of the beauty itself.

You're one of them.

I have had you in my boat

and passed a thousand storms,

You have snuggled against me

But also

stood at the edge of the moving vehicle

and looked out at the stars like you are one of them.

I have watched you looking at your own reflection

in the smooth waters,

I wonder what you wondered,

or if you even wondered at all.

You don't speak my language

but my emotions dance on your tongue

like the rain waters on our tongues on one of those harsh nights.

We have learnt the language of love.

And perhaps that is why

every time my vision is lost,

you purr at me

You strip me of my hollowness.

You fill it with yarn balls and boiled egg yolks

and your soft golden fur on my clothes.
